Loom In the weavers cottage
The weavers cottage at the Ulster-America Folk Park was three rooms with a wooden floor and large windows. The windows were necessary to be able to see the work of spinning the flax and weaving the linen. The walls inside and out were whitewashed with lime so it was bright inside even though it was a cloudy overcast day. Most days in Northern Ireland were overcast and the temperatures stayed about 48 degrees farenheight. The climate does make it very green, and very damp.
