In the weavers cottage there was a woman spinning some local wool. There is a distaff on her left with flax ready to be spun. The woman was quite knowlegable about how lime was dug up, then burned in a kiln which is like a small oven outdoors. The lime was then crushed up and mixed with water and painted on the stone walls.
