Tasha, a Brave Little Hamster

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This is Tasha, the bravest hamster in the world. Here she is in the paws of her arch nemisis, Figaro the cat.

Tasha was a hamster that came to spend the summer with us. My daughters teacher Miss Laura chose them for Tasha to live with over the summer school break. She was a pet in the class room. Tasha had a cage with all the tunnels and a wheel. Not long after arriving, Tasha had babies in the turret of the castle!

One day K.C. (kitty cat) attacked the cage knocking the lid of the turret tower where tha baby hamsters were! Tasha squealed, and bit and used her tiny claws to fight of the attacking cat. Defending her babies while putting her own life at risk.

She was standing on her tiny hind legs raising a ruckus when I captured the offending cat.

She was the bravest and smartest hamster that ever lived.

This little needle felted replaca is a tribute to the mother lion in all of us, to defend our young. Even if we are only a hamster.
